Every Student a Leader
Every student can grow into a confident, values-driven leader. Find out how we develop leadership qualities and a growth mindset in every learner.
Every Student a Leader
Our Student Leadership framework was refreshed in 2025 to develop strength of character and student agency. Our vision is for all students to:
have agency and will to positively influence their own lives and the world around them
have the capacity to set goals, reflect and act responsibly to effect change
be concerned citizens, and are empowered to actively participate and initiate change for the betterment of the community.

Our framework is centred on a tiered differentiated approach. While all students have the opportunity to extend and develop their leadership, those who demonstrate higher readiness are given opportunities to explore and master their leadership skills and competencies. Our student leadership pedagogy take reference from the JW Learning Experience framework – student-centric, intentional, and coherent, based on differentiated instructions, real world context, experiential learning and metacognitive strategies. A JW student leader should aspire to acquire all of these attributes, to different depth and mastery, during their leadership journey (see Picture 2):

All our leadership curriculum take reference from James Kouzes and Barry Posner’s The Leadership Challenge Framework. We develop students to Model the Way, Encourage the Heart, Inspire a Shared Vision, Challenge the Process and Enable Others to Act. Signified by the rainbow rim in the framework, we believe that these attributes will equip them to be leaders of tomorrow.
Our Leadership Programme for all students comprises (non-exhaustive):
Student Leadership Modules – prosocial behavior, conflict management
Student Leadership CCE Lessons – focused on student agency, student voice, service, and affirmation
Leadership Lessons during Cohort Camps – Sec 1 Orientation, Sec 2 Camp, Sec 3 Outward Bound Singapore
